About Me

About Me – Valeriia Dzherelii

Hi, I’m Valeriia — a designer, a home enthusiast, and a person who truly believes that our spaces quietly shape our lives.

I didn’t come to design because it was trendy. I came to it because, even as a child, I felt how deeply a space could affect my mood, my energy, and my sense of safety. I was the kid who constantly rearranged furniture, moved lamps closer to the bed, stacked books to create “walls,” and turned ordinary corners into little shelters. I didn’t know the rules of design back then — I just followed intuition.

And honestly, I still do.

Where it all started

My love for interiors grew long before I had any professional education. I remember visiting friends’ homes and immediately noticing how different spaces made me feel. Some places felt calm and warm, even if they were simple. Others looked expensive but somehow cold and uncomfortable.

That contrast stayed with me.

Later, I studied design more formally, earned certifications, and spent years working with real homes and real people — not perfect magazine spaces, but lived-in rooms with toys on the floor, mismatched furniture, and stories in every corner.

And that’s where I learned the most important lesson:

A beautiful home is not about perfection. It’s about presence.

What I’ve learned from real homes

Over the years, I’ve worked with many different spaces — small apartments, family houses, balconies, entryways, and rooms that “never felt right” no matter how much money was spent on them.

I’ve seen how tiny changes can transform daily life:

  • a chair moved closer to the window can become a favorite morning ritual,
  • softer lighting can change how a room feels at night,
  • thoughtful storage can bring calm where there was constant stress.

Design is not about impressing guests. It’s about supporting your everyday life.

Why I created this blog

This blog started very naturally.

People around me kept saying:
“I love this, but I could never do it myself.”
“I don’t have a designer’s eye.”
“I don’t have the budget for that.”

And every time, I thought the same thing — that’s simply not true.

You don’t need a huge budget, perfect taste, or a degree in design. What you need is understanding: how to see your space, how to listen to it, and how to adapt it to your real life — not an idealized version of it.

So I created this space to share what I’ve learned — honestly, practically, and without pressure.

What you’ll find here

On this site, I share ideas for:

  • interior and outdoor spaces,
  • cozy corners and functional layouts,
  • seasonal updates and small refreshes,
  • organization, decor, and everyday solutions.

But more than that, I try to share a way of thinking.

I believe good design starts with questions:

How do I want to feel here?
What do I actually use every day?
What makes this space calmer, not trendier?

The best design doesn’t shout.
It quietly supports your life.

Design, but make it human

I don’t believe in rigid rules or copy-paste interiors. Homes are deeply personal. They change as we change — with our routines, families, seasons, and even moods.

Some days, design is about aesthetics. Other days, it’s about making life easier.

And sometimes, it’s simply about creating a place where you can exhale.

A little about me, beyond design

When I’m not working or writing, I’m usually doing something simple — drinking tea, walking slowly, sketching ideas in a notebook, or spending time outdoors. Gardens, quiet mornings, soft light, and natural textures inspire me more than any trend forecast ever could.

Those small moments are where the best ideas are born.

If you’re here…

Whether you came for inspiration, guidance, or just to wander a little — I’m truly glad you’re here.

I hope this space helps you see your home differently. Not as a project you need to “fix,” but as a place you’re allowed to shape — gently, thoughtfully, and in your own way.

With warmth,
Valeriia
